Dr. Dulay, South Florida's leading Cosmetic and Family
dentist, today announced that as part of her community hurricane
preparedness campaign, she will offer free dental identification kits for
children for the seventh consecutive year. These dental "Toothprints" are a soft thermoplastic wafer that a
child bites down on. Just like a fingerprint, a dental imprint is an
excellent way to identify a lost child. In addition, when the child bites
down on the wafer, a small amount of saliva is left on the wafer. This
saliva contains DNA which is preserved for identification. "As a parent when
I saw the devastation from hurricane Katrina on television, and all those
children who had been separated from their parents, I wondered why more
people did not take advantage of these Toothprint kits? I decided that I
would offer these free to the community. The last thing a parent or
grandparent needs to worry about in a time of stress is how to prove to law
enforcement that a child is theirs. This is the fourth year we have provided
this service. I hope no one ever has to use one, but It's our way of giving
back to the community," said Dr. Dulay.
If you would like your children or grandchildren to have their dental tooth
prints made, please call the office for an appointment. The process takes
less than 5 minute after which you take the wafer home with you and keep in
a secure location.
